How it all began

Walter e Alfeo Ortolan, two brothers with complementary experiences in the field of building, founded the construction company Ortolan S.p.A.

The intuition

Maeg Costruzioni SpA was born from the dream of Alfeo Ortolan and Marilena Carlet: established in Vazzola (TV), it specializes in the production of medium-heavy steel structures.

Towards new horizons

Realization of the first noteworthy international project: an 18-floor hotel in Karthoum, Sudan. Maeg invests in new spaces and technologies, acquiring new production plants.

Back to the roots

32 years after its foundation, Ortolan S.p.A. is acquired by Maeg. In these years, realization of prestigious projects and works in Italy, relevant from the architectural and engineering point of view.

Turning objectives into results

Important acquisition as General Contractor: the guyed bridge in Basra, Iraq. Expansion in foreing markets, with new projects in South America.

Diverse markets, integrated expertise

International expansion where foreign turnover takes over the domestic one, as a proof of the efforts and commitment. The construction of three bridges for the prestigious Dubai Water Canal in the UAE confirms Maeg's presence in the Middle East.

Facing new challenges

Important projects in the sector of stadiums with the construction of the Al Wakrah stadium in Qatar, the COSO stadium in Cameroon and the Gewiss Stadium in Italy.

Looking ahead towards new challenges

Acquisition of renowned projects of architectural and engineering value such as the Infinity Bridge in Dubai, the Skuru Bridge in Stockholm, or the "Vertical Nest" tower in Milan.

Maeg’s production workshop sand offices are concentrated in the North-East of Italy, in five production plants located in an area of 35 kilometers.

By remaining geographically close, we can maintain the process flexible and monitored every step of the way, being fully engaged along the whole construction process, monitoring the performance, and optimizing the dialogue with the construction sites.

Maeg has obtained, from internationally recognized assessment bodies, the major certifications of the sector in terms of quality and know-how. This assures capabilities and attention to quality standards to deliver the project in compliance with the requirements.
