Realization of the NH Laguna Palace hotel in Mestre, as first of the investments planned at the end of the Nineties to requalify that part of the town.
The characteristic element of the project is a 11.000 sqare meters roof in glass and steel, one of the biggest in Europe, covering a wet dock able to host more than 400 boats. The roof is supported by trusses leaning both on two buildings and on guyed poles, contrasting the bending of the beams due to the 50 meters span. At the bottom, the poles terminate on concrete plinths integrating with the internal design of the hotel.
